Byzantine Art:

"Is for me the art of arts. I believe in it as I believe in (Orthodox) religion. Only this art nourishes my soul, through its deep and mysterious powers; it alone quenches the thirst that I feel in the midst of the arid desert that surrounds us.In comparison with Byzantine art, all the others appear to me trivial, 'troubling themselves about many things, when but one thing is needed'".

Quotes (Video Art):

"When you make a video of fire and of water, the resonance is incredible.. a flowing stream interpreted by flowing electrons.I was drawn to water intuitively, with a camera in my hand.. drawn to its pulsing waves and undulating surfaces, and of course, optically to the images it reflected".

The two artists above are the two main examples for the contextualization of my work. Photios Kontoglou was an iconographer and a writer.Bill Viola is a pioneer of video art with Renaissance links. Art and literature are media that express the self. Both are unique in expressing their souls and what they represent in a great way.

A picture's meaning can express ten thousand words. (Chinese quote).

A written word is the choicest of relics. It is something at once more intimate with us and more universal than any other work of art. It is the work of art nearest to life itself. It may be translated into every language, and not only be read but actually breathed from all human lips;not be represented on canvas or in marble only, but be carved out of the breath of life itself. The symbol of an ancient man’s thought becomes a modern man’s speech. (Henry David Thoreau)
